Tamia Whittaker is a dancer from Jackson, Mississippi. She is formally the head co-captain of the Dancing Dolls and also a member of the Purple Diamonds. Whilst on the Dancing Dolls, Tamia was head co-captain and was reportedly awarded the captain position in 2015. After a reported disagreement with the owner of the team, Tamia left the team to join the Purple Diamonds.

Tamia Whittaker was born on January 3, 1999 in Jackson, Mississippi to Angelisa and Mario Marley. She has an older sister, Asia, and two younger sisters, Makayla and Ma'Karah. She also has a younger brother called Makhi.

Tamia joined the Dancing Dolls at the age of 10, where she became head co-captain. In 2015 she joined the Purple Diamonds. In 2017, Tamia began attending Jackson State University. She graduated in 2021, also getting on the Dean's List.

So You Wanna Be a Doll?

Tamia is trying out to become head co-captain against Camryn. Tamia's mother bring Dianna a box of cupcakes during practice. At the auditions, Tamia is successfully chosen to be the head co-captain, with Camryn becoming co-captain. Dianna loved Tamia's creativity, sassiness and attitude during her routine.

Nashville Smackdown

Tamia does not step up to audition for the jazz-funk trio as well as Kayla. Miss D notices this and is unhappy.

Bucking for Revenge

Miss D states that she wants to see the Big Dolls step up this week and help the Baby Dolls with Parade. Specifically, she tells Tamia and Camryn that she hopes to see them step up in order to prove if they are Captain-material. Tamia teaches a few groups of Baby Dolls successfully. She then interrupts Camryn's Baby Doll group and starts teaching them herself. Tamia is told to back off by Camryn.

Miss D Loses Her Cool

Tamia successfully auditions for the hip hop trio along with Kayla and Ken'Janae. The trio performs well and wins the category.

Bucking In Bama

Tamia is in the running for a solo at this weeks competition. Her only rival is Camryn. The auditions for the solo start and Tamia fails to win the solo. Later on, Tamia acts as a judging panel for Camryn's solo practice, alongside Kayla, Makalah and Crystianna.

Traci's Revenge

Tamia forgets some parts of the creative dance.

Captain Down

Tamia struggles with doing the walkover in the creative dance and thus she is not chosen to be one of the five dancers in the creative dance.

Don't Do It, Neva

Tamia is chosen to be lead stand battle for the week. Tamia struggles to lead the team initially. The day of the competition arrives and Tamia gets nervous and emotional before stand battle. When she gets on stage, she does a good job and the Dolls win stand battle.

The episode A Whole New Doll Game is the first episode Tamia is absent from. Perhaps from an injury or prior commitment.

Season 3 []

The Wicked Witch of Jackson

It is revealed that Tamia now dances with the Purple Diamonds. Shanika Lee, the couch of the Purple Diamonds, described her move as "a wonderful decision". She performs in the battle squad for the Purple Diamonds and she features in one of the stands, alongside Zatia, where they stamp on their former Dancing Doll uniforms.
